THE
CAMILLA CAR CRASH - JUNE 1997
(Just
two and a half months prior to the Diana assassination... just a
coincidence!)
|
OUR
COMMENTARY: What makes this forgotten story interesting - to say the least -
is the fact that Camilla Parker-Bowles 'fled' the scene of the accident
thinking that the crash may have been an assassination attempt.
This was
reported at the time by many media outlets as being a mysterious and almost
far-fetched reaction, but little more was ever said because the reporters
didn't see the full scope of the story that they were reporting on, i.e. they couldn't have known what was going to come just a few
weeks later, the death of Diana in a 'suspicious car accident'.

As far as
we are aware, the two events have never been linked in the mainstream
media. If anyone reading this has any more info, we would be glad to
hear it...
MAINSTREAM
MEDIA REPORTS: -
-
Camilla's car 'came at me like a missile' -
CAMILLA Parker Bowles, the close friend of the Prince of Wales, was driving "hellish fast" when she hit a car on a quiet country road, the driver of the other vehicle said yesterday. Carolyn Melville-Smith, whose Volvo estate was written off in the accident on Wednesday evening, said that Mrs Parker Bowles's Ford Mondeo estate came towards her "like a missile". Miss Melville-Smith, 53, an interior designer, finished up trapped in her car, which was tipped on its side in a ditch between Norton and Easton Grey on the Wiltshire border.

I left crash for security reasons, says Parker Bowles -
CAMILLA Parker Bowles has told police that she left the scene of a car crash because, being classed a security risk, she had to contact royal protection officers. Walking away from an accident is, in some circumstances, illegal. But if it is correct that she has special security status because of her close friendship with the Prince of Wales, and left the scene under a royal protection officer's advice, she is likely to be spared prosecution. A Wiltshire police spokesman last night said that the matter was still being investigated to see if there was evidence that Mrs Parker Bowles had committed any offence.

Camilla to escape charges -
CAMILLA Parker Bowles, the close friend of the Prince of Wales, will not face prosecution over an accident last month when she collided with a car driven by another woman, police said yesterday. There had been speculation that Mrs Parker Bowles might be prosecuted for leaving the scene of the accident at Norton, Wilts. Wiltshire police said they had investigated the crash thoroughly but Carolyn Melville-Smith, the other driver, refused to make a complaint against Mrs Parker Bowles. The Crown Prosecution Service has decided that there was "insufficient evidence" to pursue a case. Mrs Parker Bowles told police that she left the crash scene because as a security risk she needed to contact royal protection officers. She said her mobile phone did not work at the scene and she went to a nearby hilltop to get a better reception.

FURTHER
COMMENTARY: One website gives a hypothesis of the circumstances of
the Camilla-crash - as outlined in the book Princess Diana: The
Hidden Evidence by Jon King and John Beveridge. Click
here to see what we are talking about - http://www.shout.net/~bigred/COECrash.htm The
book suggests that Camilla was originally targeted for the
assassination, in order to clean up the 'constitutional mess' which
was publicly created by the Charles/Camilla/Diana love
triangle. This attempt was bungled by the agency which carried
it out, so 'Plan-B' (Diana) was executed two months later in Paris. |
This
information must be taken with a pinch of salt, as some of the information
comes from un-confirmed sources - though one of our researchers has read the
aforementioned book and had a lot of good things to say about it. To
be honest, we don't know what to think so we certainly aren't going to
promote the information as fact, however in our reporting of the backgrounds
to the Diana assassination and Camilla-crash, we felt this information
worthy of touching upon.
